Sales Analysis

Sales Analysis is a review of a company’s performance in respect of the sales that they’ve made in a given period (e.g. the last 3 months, or the last financial year).

One can perform very complex mathematical studies on these numbers, but in respect of small and medium sized companies (who typically don’t have the time for this level of introspection), we prefer to focus our efforts on those areas where relatively simple changes can achieve relatively big results.

Typically, our analysis will find more than one area where potential improvements might be made, and in such circumstances, we make things simple for customers by suggesting an Order of Works for what 'probably needs to be tackled first', and for what might be 'left until a later date'. We do this because we recognise that running a business is hard work, and because there are many demands on Management’s time – so if we can make things simple, clear and easy-to-digest, then this is one less thing for you to worry about !

In pursuance of this, our analysis services come in three easy-to-understand formats:

 

Basic: Here we come to your location and consult with you for an hour or so. We take the time to understand all the things that you’re having to contend with at the moment, and all the things that you’d much rather be doing in the next stage of your business.

Based on this meeting, we then write you an easy-to-understand report of recommendations, which guides you as to what you might want to consider improving, and in which order. With each of the suggestions there is a clear explanation as to why it is being suggested and a guide as to how to go about doing it.

If there are just a few issues that need attention, and if the report will only take us 1-2 days of work to generate, then we call this a Basic Report of Recommendations.

 

Intermediate: Here we come to your location and consult with you for an hour or so and then with various other members of your team, possibly for another few hours. We take the time to understand your sales process, the competitor environment in which you find yourself, and all the things that you would like to achieve in the next phase of your business.

We then will speak to a number of your customers, to take their views on how well you are doing, and in what areas they might like to see improvements and/or new product/service offerings.

We then write you an easy-to-understand report of recommendations which guides you as to what you might want to consider doing, and in which order, with clearly explained reasons as to why we are making these suggestions, and with a plan for how to go about doing it.
This level of service, which normally takes a weeks’ worth of work to complete, is our Intermediate Report of Recommendations.

 

Advanced: Here we come to your location and consult with you for an hour or so and then with various other members of your team, possibly for another few hours. We then take the time to understand your sales team’s performance level, your sales process, sales literature, quote documentation, plus the competitor environment in which you find yourself, and all the things that you would like to achieve in the next phase of your business.

We will then speak to a number of your customers, to take their views on how well you are doing, and in what areas they might like to see improvements and or new product/service offerings.

Following this, we will also ‘mystery shop’ some of your competitors, to understand how well they are doing, and in what areas you might gain a competitive advantage against them.

Finally, we revisit your premises and present to you our findings, together with an easy-to-understand report of recommendations which guides you as to what you might want to consider doing, and in which order, with clearly explained reasons as to why we are making these suggestions.

This level of service, which normally takes 2-3 weeks’ worth of work to complete, is an Advanced Report of Recommendations.
